NAIFA CEO [Kevin Mayeux](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevin-mayeux-8669275/), CAE, issued the following statement on the [confirmation of Gary Gensler](https://www.sec.gov/news/public-statement/gensler-confirmation) as chair of the SEC:

“NAIFA sends our congratulations to Gary Gensler upon his Senate confirmation to serve as the 33rd chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. NAIFA looks forward to working with Chairman Gensler on policies to help the Main Street Americans served by NAIFA members prepare for financially secure retirements. We are continuing efforts to promote annuity transaction rules and legislation in every state that enhance consumer protections and align with the SEC’s Regulation Best Interest.”
