NAIFA’s Get Out the Vote (GOTV) resources are now available to NAIFA members and the general public online at gotv4financialsecurity.org. The website provides educational materials to help NAIFA members and the consumers who they help achieve financial security understand how the election process works and make informed decisions at the polls.

Resources include state-by-state voter registration instructions and deadlines and information about upcoming primary elections and general elections. The site also includes a means of identifying a user’s state and federal lawmakers, a basic introduction to how government works, and a tool for tracking federal or state legislation using a bill number or keywords. NAIFA’s GOTV provides information specific to this year’s upcoming elections, including the 2022 Election Cycle Landscape, a list of open seats in Congress to be filled in 2022, and election guides for every state.

“NAIFA encourages insurance and financial professionals to be politically engaged and involved by participating in our grassroots efforts, attending our Congressional Conference, contributing to our political action committee, and educating clients and consumers about the impact decisions made by legislators have on their financial security,” said NAIFA President Lawrence Holzberg, LUTCF, LACP. “Our GOTV program is one tool we provide to empower financial professionals and consumers with information and resources to allow them to participate in government and make a real difference.”

NAIFA also offers members a three-part Grassroots Engagement Training Series that covers everything from the fundamentals of political advocacy to advanced concepts and skills. The series offers training on developing relationship-building and advocacy communications skills. Members who complete the course will have a thorough understanding of how our political system works, how they can increase their influence, and how they maximize their participation up to possibly running for office themselves. Those who complete all three courses in the series earn NAIFA’s Financial Security Advocate badge, which they may display on their websites, email signatures, and social media platforms. More details are available at the NAIFA Member Portal under "Advocate>Grassroots Engagement Training Series."
