NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux issued the following statement on congressional passage of the latest $484 billion COVID-19 relief legislation.

“NAIFA members serve small businesses in communities across the country, and many NAIFA members are small business owners themselves. NAIFA is pleased that Congress has agreed to extend relief packages to protect American businesses and workers. Increased funding for Economic Injury Disaster Loans and the Paycheck Protection Program are vital to helping Main Street American businesses cope with uncertainty and hardships brought by the COVID-19 outbreak. Financial professionals are on the front lines, helping small business clients and their own practices draw on the programs to keep Americans on payrolls and keep businesses afloat. NAIFA has provided a series of deep-dive question and answer sessions for financial professionals to increase their knowledge and ensure they have the latest information about the CARES Act and Payroll Protection Program.”

NAIFA continues to work with Congress on polices transitioning from relief to economic recovery,  focusing on efforts to ensure Americans can maintain their health care coverage, adequately save for retirement, and access financial protection. NAIFA's grassroots army is urging Congress to include specific health coverage options, retirement enhancements, and life insurance tax changes in recovery legislation.
