NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux has written Larry Kudlow, director of the National Economic Council, asking the administration to include tax-exempt associations in any policies designed to provide businesses relief from impacts of the CONVID-19 outbreak.
The letter notes that NAIFA holds two major conferences annually, the Congressional Conference in May and the Performance + Purpose conference in the fall, as well as state chapter conferences and several smaller meetings.
“Cancelation of any of these events would have a major impact on our operations and would carry financial implications. Of course, the health and safety of our members, as well as the general public, is NAIFA’s top concern,” the letter states.
In a separate communication to NAIFA members, Mayeux said that NAIFA has not canceled Congressional Conference or P+P.
“We are currently hopeful that steps being taken across the country will allow us to hold [Congressional Conference] as planned, but we will communicate any changes to you promptly,” he wrote. “At this time, we look forward to hosting an exciting, impactful advocacy event.”
NAIFA’s letter to Director Kudlow supports a similar effort by the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE).
