Advocacy in action blog

Attendees at NAIFA’s Performance + Purpose conference, Sept. 11-14 in Orlando, will benefit from collaborations between leading organizations in the life insurance and financial services industry. Life Happens, NAILBA, and Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS) are working with NAIFA to offer a mix of inspirational, informative, and fun programming at P+P.

NAILBA, the voice of independent brokerage distribution, will once again host a reception for independent advisors on the second night of P+P, Thursday, Sept. 12. NAILBA’s Independent Advisors Reception has been a premier networking event at NAIFA conferences for many years. This year’s reception will feature an acoustic performance by Thomas Nicholas.

P+P sponsor Women in Financial Services (WIFS) will host a breakfast on Friday, Sept. 13, featuring a presentation by WIFS President Michelle Harm, a financial professional with Prudential Advisors-Great Lakes Financial Group. The WIFS breakfast is also a great networking opportunity. Additionally, WIFS and NAIFA are partnering to present a breakout session workshop, “Attracting Women to the Financial Industry and the Value of Work-Life Balance,” by Jennifer Bacarella, Executive Manager for Sigma Financial Corporation, Parkland Securities, LLC and Sigma Planning Corporation.

Real Life Stories, a series of presentations by Life Happens illustrating the personal impact of life insurance products on families and individuals, is always a P+P Main Stage highlight. Inspirational, emotional, and powerful, these stories and the individuals at the center of them exemplify for P+P attendees how the work they do is so important to the American public. This year, the Real Life Stories presentations will take place during the Saturday, Sept. 14, general session.

“NAIFA is proud of our long-standing relationships with Life Happens, NAILBA, and WIFS,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux.  “Together, we promote our shared association values of protecting and elevating financial professionals so they can better serve the families and businesses that rely on their products and guidance. Working together, our organizations represent the entire producer community and empower agents and advisors to help 90 million American families achieve financial security and prosperity.”

NAIFA has long-standing partnerships with all three organizations, collaborating with NAILBA and WIFS on member education and advocacy, and with Life Happens as an association partner. NAIFA will also participate in NAILBA 38, Nov. 7-9 in Dallas, and the WIFS 2019 Conference, Oct. 14-16 in Louisville, Ky.
