NAIFA Trustee, Wes Booker, LUTCF, loyal member since 2004 can be spotted all across SEC country when he is not serving his clients out of Maumalle, AR. Booker is an NCAA Football referee for the Southeastern Conference. Recently, he had the honor of serving as an official during the 12th Annual Congressional Football Game.

The 12th Annual Congressional Football game was held on November 3, 2021, at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. This bipartisan team of current and former Congress members, former professional football coaches, and players went up against the Capitol Hill Police. The congressional team, captained by Representative Rodney Davis (R-IL) and Representative Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), also included Representative Thomas Suozzi (D-NY), a previous speaker at NAIFA's Congressional Conference, and Representative  Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), a former NFL player and member of the House Financial Services Committee.

The congressional team had a number of notable former players, including Hall of Fame wide receiver Andre Reed, Hall of Fame lineman, Randy White, Pro Bowl linebacker, Ken Harvey, and Heisman Trophy-winning running back, Herschel Walker. The Capitol Police beat the congressional team with a final score of 26-6. Booker said, "It's a humbling experience to be able to give back my time to a very important cause."

Football has always been part of Bookers' life. After high school, he played for the University of Central Arkansas Bears. Upon graduation, he joined Farm Bureau Insurance company and today is the CEO of the Wes Booker Agency, The Horace Mann Companies.  He began officiating a the high school level and 8 years ago, he was invited to officiate at the college level in the Southeastern Conference, while still remaining an active advisor. Booker is also President and Founder of the Wes Booker Football Officials Camp. Their motto is "Earn Your Stripes." This means that no matter how good you've been in the past, there's always room to improve. Always Learning, never settling, and uncompromising. These same principles apply to achieving success in the industry.

Booker's participation in these opportunities outside of the industry is another example of NAIFA members being involved in their communities and making a difference beyond the products and services they provide. Thank you Wes, we are #NAIFAproud to call you one of our own.
