Advocacy in action blog

John D. Richardson, RICP, LACP, loyal NAIFA member since 2003, was recently elected to serve on the Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committee for Senate District 21.

Richardson's leadership and professional success have been noteworthy throughout his tenure as a NAIFA member. After graduating from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Spanish, he began his career as an advisor in 2005. Today he is a Financial Planner and Partner with Boundbrook Advisors (MassMutual), a firm he co-founded in Brentwood, TN.

He was President of the NAIFA-Nashville affiliate and NAIFA-Tennessee chapter. He is a strong supporter of NAIFA's IFAPAC and serves on the NAIFA-Tennessee Board of Directors as the IFAPAC Co-Chair. Nationally, he serves on NAIFA's Young Advisor Team Committee and was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee that developed the NAIFA 2025 Strategic Plan. He was selected as the 2018 Young Advisor Team Leader of the Year.

That Richardson's leadership extends to the political arena comes as no surprise. He is a NAIFA Financial Security Advocate, an IFAPAC Defender, and a regular attendee of NAIFA's Congressional Conference in Washington, D.C., as well as NAIFA-Tennessee legislative days.

Among Richardson's favorite NAIFA activities, he says, are "his participation in the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) and his twice a year trips to Washington, D.C., to lobby on behalf of his clients regarding regulations that could negatively impact their financial well-being."
