Advocacy in action blog

NAIFA Trustee Wes Booker, LUTCF, CEO of the Wes Booker Agency, The Horace Mann Companies, in Maumelle, AR, has announced that he is a candidate for the Arkansas State House of Representatives. He is running for the seat serving House District 71.

Booker, a loyal NAIFA member since 2004, said in the press release announcing his candidacy, “Taxes are too high. Regulations are too burdensome. And our families and small businesses are suffering as a result. That’s why I’m running.”

Booker cites his experience as a small business owner among the attributes qualifying him for office. He has also been involved with NAIFA’s political advocacy efforts and has been a regular attendee of NAIFA’s Congressional Conference. In addition to running his agency and serving the financial needs of his clients, Booker is a long-time college football official currently officiating in the South Eastern Conference.

Many NAIFA members, like Booker, are highly engaged political advocates. If you would like to learn how you could be a better advocate, more fully engage in the political debate, and perhaps even run for office yourself one day, NAIFA’s Grassroots Engagement Training series is for you. Introductory, intermediate, and advanced training modules teach you everything you need to know to ensure your voice is heard and you make a real difference. Booker has completed all three modules and qualifies as a NAIFA Financial Security Advocate.
