Advocacy in action blog

Julie Harrison, NAIFA's Director of State Chapter Government Relations, has been named to the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) Board of Directors.

NIPR, an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), is a not-for-profit technology company with the goal of streamlining the producer licensing process. Members of the NIPR Board of Directors represent state insurance regulators and the insurance industry.

“Julie Harrison is an excellent choice to represent NAIFA and insurance professionals on the NIPR board,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux. “Julie works directly with NAIFA members, who are licensed producers from every state, and she has keen insight into their licensing issues. Her appointment continues NAIFA’s extensive history of working with NIPR and the NAIC to strengthen the insurance industry and support the interests of producers and consumers.”

Harrison leads a new NAIFA initiative to design and execute the implementation of a multi-state advocacy program in conjunction with advocacy partners. She serves as the NAIFA state chapter liaison to foster strong state chapter relationships with key members of state government and industry groups to promote association interests. Julie has ten years of government affairs experience with the past five years in the insurance industry at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC).
