Nominees for Secretary and the Board of Trustees to stand for election at NAIFA’s Performance+Purpose Conference this September in Orlando

FALLS CHURCH, VA – The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors’ Committee on Governance has nominated Lawrence Holzberg of Wealth Advisory Group (WAG) of New York for the position of 2020 NAIFA Secretary. Holzberg is Managing Director, Advance Sales Director at WAG, a Guardian General Agency.

The Committee has also nominated five members to serve two-year terms on the NAIFA Board of Trustees. The nominees are: Mark Acre, LUTCF, of OneSource Insurance Group of Ozark, Mo., Connie Golleher, CLTC, LACP, of The Golleher Group in Washington, D.C., Win Havir, CPCU, CLF, LUTCF, FSS, AIC, LACP, of The Horace Mann Companies of Greater Minneapolis; Steve Saladino, LUTCF of Principal Financial Group of Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla.; and John Wheeler, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CRPC, LUTCF, LACP, of Water Tower Financial Partners, Mass Mutual of Chicago.

Cammie Scott, MSIE, ChHC, CLTC, LUCF, REBC, RHU, SHRM-SCP, of CK Harp & Associates in Springdale, Ark., is slated to serve as 2020 President; Thomas O. Michel, LACP, of Michel Financial Group in Los Angeles as President-Elect; and Brock Jolly, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CLTC, CASL, CFBS, of Veritas Financial LLC/MassMutual Financial Group in McLean, Va., as Treasurer. Jill Judd LUTCF, FSS, of State Farm Insurance Companies in Capitola, Calif., will serve as immediate past president.

The nominees will stand for election at the NAIFA Performance + Purpose 2019 conference in Orlando, Sept. 11-14, 2019.

The Governance Committee consists of 12 NAIFA members and is chaired by NAIFA Immediate Past President Keith Gillies, CFP, CLU, ChFC.

“The Committee received a strong slate of applicants for 2020 and had to make some tough decisions from a very qualified pool of applicants,” Gillies said. “This is an important and exciting time for NAIFA, as we continue to implement the NAIFA 20/20 strategic plan that has empowered us to modernize our association’s structure. We are now a leaner, nimbler NAIFA, with state and large local chapters working hand-in-hand as One NAIFA to provide a consistent, high-quality member experience that gives our members the best opportunity to succeed and prosper. I am honored to continue to serve NAIFA at such a meaningful time in our association’s history and am encouraged by the fact that my colleagues have the talent, dedication, and leadership to move NAIFA forward and provide the greatest possible benefit for our members.”

Opportunities to Get to Know the Nominees

Biographical information for all nominees are available on the Performance + Purpose 2019 site. The nominees will participate in a “Meet the Nominees” workshop prior to the election at the P+P Conference in Orlando on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 a.m. Each nominee will provide brief remarks and engage NAIFA members in a question-and-answer session.
