Insurance and financial professionals provide a powerful advocacy voice at state and federal levels.

Falls Church, VA (October 1, 2020) -- The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) has announced a new advocacy campaign focused on raising awareness among financial services professionals of the importance of their role in the regulatory and political process. The new campaign kicks off today with a comprehensive digital marketing strategy.

The new campaign – called “The Power of You. The Power of Us.” –spotlights the work NAIFA and NAIFA members do at both the state and federal levels. NAIFA is the only association that spans the entire spectrum of the financial services industry, provides professional lobbying, and has members in every Congressional district within the United States and 87% of state legislative districts. The campaign highlights the breadth and depth of NAIFA’s reach and knowledge of critical issues pertinent to advisors and their consumer clients.

“It’s the perfect time to get the message out to the advisor community that their voice is critical to legislators and regulators,” stated Diane Boyle, NAIFA Senior Vice President, Government Relations. “Regardless of the election outcomes, we know that our advisors are the closest to the consumer and are a critical source of feedback and expertise to legislators on the economic and financial security of consumers in their local communities. With so much change due to COVID-19, it’s critical, now more than ever, that more advisors are meeting with policymakers to provide testimony on the concerns and challenges their clients face.”

The campaign ties together the idea of the power of one individual advisor being involved in advocating for clients and community and pairs it with the idea of the power of the collective advisor voice. This “Power of Us” voice of the industry is illustrated by compelling visuals showcasing over a thousand NAIFA members standing on the steps of the U.S. Capitol at NAIFA’s annual Congressional Conference, the largest association fly-in within the financial services industry.

“While we could not gather together this year at the Capitol, we are using the power of digital marketing to remind NAIFA members and inspire non-members how important it is to be an advocate for your business, your clients and your country,” stated Boyle. “NAIFA has had many wins over our 130-year history. This campaign is both a call-to-action as well as a celebration of what we can accomplish together.”

The campaign will prominently feature NAIFA members and state chapter presidents. NAIFA member and 2019 Young Advisor Team Leader of the Year Cheryl Canzanella will serve as the face of the campaign for NAIFA National. Additional campaigns in the state chapters of NAIFA-New Jersey and NAIFA-Massachusetts are also underway with many states adopting the campaign showcasing their support and participation in NAIFA’s state and federal advocacy.
